Allen McGee

Golf Instructor

Allen McGee played his junior golf at the Kanata Golf and Country Club. He received his Bachelor Degree as a Business Administration Major at High Point University in North Carolina. His attempts at making the Canadian Tour in 2000 and 2001 were unsuccessful, and with a young family, Allen returned to the amateur ranks in 2003.

As an amateur golfer, his record in OVGA competition is among the best.

Allen has won club championships at Eagle Creek, Glen Mar, Hautes Plaines, Kanata and The Marshes. He has set the record for Ottawa Valley Golf Association City & District Championships with eight wins, and he teamed with his former Kanata Junior teammate, Kyle Koski, in the Ottawa Sun Scramble with six consecutive Open Championships. But if you ask Allen about his most gratifying wins, he would point to his 2015 – 2018 and 2020 Ottawa Sun Scramble Open Championship wins with his son Hunter, a member of the Kanata Golf & Country Club.

Allen joined the PGA as an Apprentice Professional in 2019, and has since had several strong showings on the PGA Ottawa Zone Players Tour, including winning the PGA of Ottawa’s Assistant Championship in 2022.
